As the weather gets warmer and life gets busier, it sometimes becomes more difficult to make it to your normally scheduled WOD. We get it, little league and family picnics are definitely important, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to miss out on your workout as a whole. Check out our three favorite suggestions to get some movement in, even if you can’t make it to the gym.

Go For A Run or Walk

Whether it is a quick couple of miles on the home treadmill before work, or a long walk with your spouse and the dog after dinner, getting in some steady state cardio in a time effective manner is a great way to get your sweat in while also not compromising that cherished family time.

Play With The Kids

The trampoline is always an excuse to show off your favorite stunts you did during high school cheerleading, and your kids will think you’re a rockstar when you do. They’ll also be extra thankful when you’re running around playing tag! Spending 30 minutes moving, laughing, and having fun in the sun makes for a great substitute when you aren’t able to get into the gym.

Swim!

On a hot afternoon, it can be hard to pull yourself away from the pool, we get it. This is an excellent opportunity to get a few laps in, or better yet, try running in the water for some soft resistance!

Although the summer months may be filled with reasons to not get your workout in, there is always a way to break a sweat and not fall off the wagon!
